She sued IRCC for compensate her CAD 15,000 legal fees. Under Immigration, Refugee Protection Regulations rules 22, special reasons must be present before a financial compensation can be rewarded. Case laws further define special reasons to be nature of the case and the behavior conduct of the IRCC officers. A merely erroneous decision does not justify a financial reward.
